How it works

  1. Fill it in

Delete the sample rows and add one row per expense or income. Keep the header row as it is so Outlayr finds each column.

  2. Save it as a CSV

Keep commas between columns, and save the file to Files or iCloud Drive on your iPhone.

  3. Import it in Outlayr

In Settings, tap Import data, then CSV file, and pick the file. Check the rows and tap Import.

Questions

Is the template free?

Yes. Download it and use it in any spreadsheet app for as long as you like. Importing it into Outlayr is free too for every row whose category matches one of yours by name; the English file uses the categories a new Outlayr ledger starts with. Outlayr Pro matches other category names to yours with AI.

Does it work with Excel and Google Sheets?

Yes, and with Numbers. Outlayr reads a CSV with commas between columns. Some spreadsheet apps save CSV files with semicolons where decimals are written with a comma. If yours does, download the CSV from Google Sheets, which uses commas.

What if a row cannot be read?

It is listed as skipped before anything is saved, with the reason: an unreadable date or amount, or no matching category. Rows that look already imported are flagged too, so you can leave them out.
